The guys from MGMT make some pretty sweet music, I stumbled across the music video for Time To Pretend, it's quite interesting, who ever made it obviously smokes a lot of wilson or is on way to much acid or neither. its fair to say my body hates me. too much beer, too much bourbon, way too much coffee, loud noises, late nights, early mornings, no exercise, a little too much sugar, and all in the last 48 hours has left me quaking at my computer like a feeble nosed wombat.

its also fair to say it was all worth it but. i got the end of my week, and i got my hang over and i got to listen to some good music. gameboy/gamegirl were fucking sick. and tranter is a loose man, who in a few years may find his weight and party habits could land him in some strife with the heart department....but whatever.

It's funny how your mood changes your taste in music. This week i've been fucking flat out and its left me tired as the little old grannies i push around the hospital. Being tired has been added to my current (and already too long) list of things that are pissing me off or getting to me. Uni is on the top of the list, followed closely by traffic, my lack of motivation for anything, money or apparent lack thereof, the weather, working too much, my persistent headache, petrol prices and a whole list of trivial things that wouldn't bother me if i wasn't such a grumpy fuck.

Stemming from my incessant lack luster attitude for all things right now is my growing taste for minimalism. Somehow the dark and basic and real repetitive bass lines and stripped back beats leave me rather soothed and kinda just numb. I'm getting lost in this music, and when i come back to earth im stressed even more because i snap to the realisation i just wasted about an hour doing fuck all when my report is due in hours. Life is grand. So what I'll do is send you over to STEALMYBURGER's myspace where you can download his late licence mix. It's pretty amazing, and i never thought i'd be the one advocating minimalism in a public forum. So take what you will from that.

A couple of weeks back I went up to elsewhere for the V fest after party, Gus da hoodrat played and I was also lucky enough to see K.I.M. from the presets there. It was an awesome night; Gus da hoodrat played a huge set with some really fun music and K.I.M. Jumped on a few times and played some songs off the new presets album.

THINGS ARE LOOKING FORWARD

I'm pretty sure all who go to uni will agree with me when i say its fucked. and now with mid-sems on the way, uni life just got even more fucked. but i suppose we've still got our social lives to keep us sane. and with a nice healthy social life, comes good music. and the one thing that hopefully will keep us happy through all this is the music.

Our first break from uni is the bumblebeez playing both live and playing a dj set this saturday (the 12th) as a part of their national tour.

After a massive night last night, my head hurts. So today i thought i'd give my ears a break and have a proper listen to Lupe Fiasco's second and latest album "the coolest". Its kinda refreshing to finally hear some hip hop/rap come out of america that isnt all about making money, rooting bitches, and killing niggers, he raps stories based around several characters that represent different elements of his life and upbringing. buy his album and have a careful listen for sure.
