HEY NOW!

Hey Now are some crazy djs from Sydney who can also make some amazing remixes and edits. Back in September last year we posted there mega mix, Since then they have been busy remixing artists such as Midnight Youth, Pomomofo, Lost Valentinos, The Paper Scissors, Grafton Primary and also have been working on a debut EP which everyone should look out for. Hey Now also tell me they might be heading up Queensland way sometime towards the end of July.

BMX BANDITS

The old school video above of the Bmx Bandits film doesn't really have anything to do with the Queensland pop band BMX, Although it's worth having a peak at, it's some pretty funny shit.

BMX kinda remind me of Gameboy / Gamegirl, but are no doubt different and have there own style with vocals you cant help but sing along to. If your from the Gold Coast area and your free on july 6th you should check them out up @ Elsewhere. Van She (Live), Van She Tech, Ajax and Ladyboy with also all be playing on the night.

Crookers Live @ Gatecrasher

Haven't posted a mix for a while so i thought i'd grab one that i thinks worth a download. It's hard to go past having a listen to a Crookers mix which was recorded live last month at a crazy event called Gatecrasher. This is a handful of artists who also played at the event; The Prodigy, Digitalism, Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, Tiga, Hot Chip, Audio Bullys, CSS, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, The Whip, The Chemical Brothers, Pendulum, Soulwax, Crystal Castles, Dizzee Rascal.

(Fun Fact) Gatecrashers is a 2 day event, 20 arenas, 20 live bands, 200 Djs, 60,000 people and 20,000 campers. I'm a bit jealous.

I SHOULD BE STUDYING

i could use a good pool party, or some summer. but seeing as that won't be happening anytime soon, these tracks will have to suffice. Shazam is a young - i think the kids like 17 - musical wizard type from perth, who makes some nice french style electro house. Breakbot is a french guy who also makes some nice french style (believe it or not) electro house.

THE DUKE

this is not what you'd usually expect from a duke dumont remix. the best i can describe it is like one of those beyond of the wizards sleeve re-animations that are constructed so perfectly that you sit mesmerized for the whole track. then when its finished you wish you'd never heard it before so you could listen to it again for the first time.

MP3:Mystery Jets - Two Doors Down (Duke Dumont Reconstruction)

and fuck its even more amazing when you hear the original.

THE BIG MAN

speaking of jezza, heres his theme song. and try to get past the title as the lyrics match pretty fucking good also.

MP3:Too Short - Nothing Feels Better

NEW JUSTICE REMIX

I haven't seen a remix from Justice in a while, so it’s good to hear some fresh material. Especially when’s it’s of an MGMT song that I've been listening to none stop lately, so it was pretty random to see that Justice had done a remix of Electric Feel.

MP3:MGMT - Electric Feel (Justice Remix)

JEZZA PISSED HIMSELF LAST NIGHT

Jezza pissed himself last night, not really, I actually kicked him and he knocked his bourbon all over his crotch and my floor. Anyway below is a few songs to have a cheeky listen to that Jezza might have been listening to prior to wetting himself, to tell you the truth I'm just doing a post cause jezza's going to love to see his name on here.

P.s- For a free lecture on the effects on el nino and la nina on our current climate just drop jezza a line, his abundance of knowledge on the subject blew us away. His passion on the subject even unmatched Al Gore himself was left shocked and stunned by what the man with the stunted growth had to say.

P.p.s- All shit aside, We truly love and admire you Jeremy.

...

sometimes, and not all the time - because all the time would unhealthy - its nice to sit (or lie) down in a position of supreme comfort where to move from that position would be so much of a disturbance to the mental and physical completeness you have found yourself in that you could possibly neck yourself. all the time is unhealthy for two reasons. the first reason being it takes time to relax, and thats time most of us don't have thanks to an amazement of commitments and deadlines. thus it is unhealthy to our heavy schedules to be this comfortable. the second reason being, to do this all the time would be analogous to listening to your favourite album way too much, or taking too many drugs, you just get over it or used to it, and you never get the feeling of your first listen or hit back. which is shitty. but in saying that we still do it none-the-less. and to make matters worse, it is not an easy task to reach this level of comfort; a whole variety of contributing factors need to be perfect before the mind and body allow it to occur.

two aids to this comfort quest are valium and music. the right dose of valium and the right selection of music along with a darkened room, soft pillow, headphones allow all opportunity for space out comfort.

so pop some valiums and give raw man a listen. it works for me.
